I was in the latest edition of New York Design Week when Banjooli, a new colourfull collection by Italian Moroso was first presented to the market and we are happy to announce its arrival at Oikos! Designer Sebastian Herkner was inspired by the mating dance of male ostriches (Banjooli in Wolof language) who stretch their wings to showcase their beauty to the females. The armchair and table of the collection both have a varnished steel frame and hand-woven strings made from colorful nets used by Senegalese fishermen. Each design is different, lending an extra layer of authenticity to the Banjooli collection. The different strands of polyethylene woven by hand created stunning collages in designs that can look great both indoors and outdoors!
