The richness of the motifs in Greek folk art inspired the Athens-based a graphic designer duo comprised by Maria-Olga Vlachou and Kostis Vassiliadis who decided to unite and put new visual context and physical form to the graphical lexicon of traditional Greek culture. They named their brand Postfolk and they describe it as “digital embroidery” which is is very much about “the future of the past”. Creating the figures pixel by pixel, Maria-Olga and Kostis made a series of aprons, made of 100% polyester. The graphics illustrate an aged texture, bringing postmodern connotations into folk art.
We found these aprons unique and gorgeous and we think that they are matching beautifully with our selection of home design objects this season at Oikos! They are also a great gift idea for Christmas!
