When designer Ferruccio Laviani was looking for a name for a new lamp he designed for Kartell, he thought that it resembled to an elephant’s tusk. Made of transparent or batch-dyed PMMA, Taj, as he eventually named it, is the first table lamp without the stereotypical articulated shapes that we usually see in its category.
With an essential and bold form, Taj has simple lines without many different finishes and it is the first lighting piece of Kartell in which LED technology was used, providing a top lighting and color rendering. Taj is produced in the completely “naked” transparent version, in the “frozen” satin-finished plastic version and in the black and white matte versions.
The smaller version of Taj comes in a wide color range, with more alluring colours than the classic version.
