Multi-awarded British designer Thomas Heatherwick with a distinctive commitment to architecture, urban infrastructure, sculpture and design is behind Spun, a rotating chair by French company Magis. Aiming to produce a startling twist on conventional furniture design and inspired by the process of metal spinning, Heatherwick did an extensive research and experimentation to produce an ergonomic form that works as a chair whichever way it is rotated. It was all about the back support and the back support to be able to work as a seat. Spun is made of a single rotational form, which is completely symmetrical. Made of moulded polyethylene, measuring 65cm high by 91cm in diameter it is suitable for indoor and outdoor use and available in various solid colors, Spun is a fun chair that lets you rock side to side or spin around, whether you are indoors or outdoors!
Its translucent polycarbonate version is also exciting!
