Last year, Established & Sons introduced Udukuri, a dining table by Japanese architect Jo Nagasaka. During the recent London Design Festival, the British brand presented Iro, a whole collection of resin and wood furniture by the Japanese architect. A new coffee table, side table, credenza with sliding doors and a new chair all made using the same combination of wood and pigmented resin. Variations in the depth of the peeled wood affect the intensity of the resin’s colour!
By utilizing traditional Japanese techniques, Nagasaka played with colour blocking, wood grain and translucent materials and created these unique uneven surfaces with smooth finishings, resulting to furniture pieces with simple geometric frames that can be everyday objects while being both avant-garde and minimalistic.
A collection of different colours of resin are available including various hues of red, blue, green and yellow.
