The Breton seafaring world and the the “air vent” that are used as ventilation systems on sailing ships inspired French designer Ionna Vautrin to design a small, fun table lamp called Binic for Italian Foscarini, that took its name from a little lighthouse on the coast of Brittany.

Made with great attention to detail, Binic has a conical base in satinised aluminium that creates a pleasant contrast to the glossy polycarbonate projector, enclosed in a simple inclined screen that spreads the light evenly, combining functionality with minimal bulk. Available in an extremely original and up to date color palette which includes rich, dense tones of white, green, amaranth, orange, petrol and grey, Binic easily harmonises with a range of domestic environments — a study, child’s or adult’s bedroom or a personal area in a living room – enabling a perfect fit to the personality of whoever chooses his or her favourite version. Its odd shape by all means stimulates the imagination to create a wide range of interpretations!

Binic is suggested as a “take away” object, a present, or a personal object of desire. It wins one over through empathy, with a real ‘coup de cœur.’ The character is also transmitted by Vautrin’s packaging which is just as special and fun, and has the same colour as the lamp and its unmistakable shape.
