“No What?” is the motto/question of the new edition of the Athens Biennale that opened last weekend. Aiming to explore creative alternatives to a state of bankruptcy at a time when the finiancial crisis in the country has reached a highpoint and using the empty building of the former Athens Stock Exchange as its main venue, AB4 proposes AGORA not only as a place of change and interaction, but also as an ideal setting for critique. A succession of objects, collaborative events, performances, roundtable discussions, filmscreenings, workshops and education programs takes places in the building of Sofokleous street, filled by artists, curators, theorists and practitioners in the creative industries.
We visited the Athens Stock Exchange and the Camp building that also hosts this “collective” experiment and took some photos of the installations and artworks that caught our attention.
