Among the top new entries at the recent Salone Del Mobile 2015 is the collaboration of Alessandro Mendini with Kartell. The esteemed designer and architect presented two projects for the Italian brand, marking their first collaboration. Mendini incorporates his trademark pattern motifs into two new designs, a moulded stool and a wall-moulded clock. Inspired by an ancient shape of chinese stool and American artist Roy Lichtenstein, Roy stool which also functions as a side table is made our of mass-dyed polycarbonate.
Mendini’s initial source of inspiration for Crystal Palace wall clock was London’s glass Hall where an exhibition of clocks was presented. Made out of a thermoplastic technopolymer, Crystal Palace is simple yet impressive and bold! Both products are launched in fluo colours with Kartell planning to expand the collection adding more colour options soon.
